The Clog Comeback
Clever Clogs
Love ‘em or loathe ‘em clogs are here for the foreseeable and following our latest Instagram poll, I’ve taken it upon myself to convince all you haterz that you might just be missing a trick by giving them a wide berth.
They can be paired with; jeans, dresses, skirts, jumpsuits & even loungewear. Don’t knock ‘em until you’ve tried them.
And if they’re good enough for SJP…
Here are 5 reasons to love the clog accompanied by my ultimate picks.
A gentle yet stylish reintroduction to the heel
They invariably come with a low, block heel and therefore are a simple, but oh so comfortable way of giving you some height.
Having spent the last 12 months in fluffy slippers or trainers, ease yourself back into the world of heels via the medium of clogs.
Highwood Tan from Lotta From Stockholm
Colour
They are a fun way to inject colour into an otherwise neutral look, they even do print ones, check these bad boys out.
Husband Clog in Leopard from Swedish Hasbeens
Hello Peep Toe
An open-toed clog is basically a sandal…so you know, cool your jets.
Cross Strap Sky High in Yellow from Swedish Hasbeens
Wear with the Flare
The 70s trend is alive and kicking and if I had a pound for every time I’d been asked what shoes to wear with a flare, I’d be sunning myself in the Bahamas as I type as the answer is, quite simply – a clog.
Flares and clogs were *literally* made for each other. They also look epic with a flared denim jumpsuit. Channel your inner Farah Fawcett with these.
Mid Floral Cut-Out from Penelope Chivers
The Go-To for comfort
If you’re not quite ready to give up the fluffy slippers just yet, these have your name written all over them.
Ashley Felted Wool Clogs from Anthropologie
If all of these still haven’t convinced you, then, frankly you are beyond my skills to heal and you’ll have to make do with the other 2021 shoe trend, the Jelly Shoe. Good luck with that one!
