What’s on in Winch this Christmas

What’s on in Winch this Christmas

The last week before Christmas… the calm before the storm? Or maybe you already feel like you’re firmly in the storm? Either way, it’s time to dig deep and really embrace the festive spirit. And, we have plenty of local delights to get you in the mood.

    Christmas Market

This Thursday sees the Christmas market come to a close. So if you’re yet to get stuck into a grilled cheese sandwich (you must, you really must), meander with a mulled wine, or grab some last-minute presents then ‘Last call for the Christmas Market’. It always feels a little sad when it’s all packed up but the ice rink will be open until Wednesday 2nd January, so you can still get your festive fix!

Speaking of festive fixes, there are two AMAZING and oh-so-sparkly events happening in the last few days before Christmas…

    Christmas Ballet

The Nutcracker by The Bolshoi Ballet is on this Sunday at Everyman Cinema; part of their Royal Opera House’s live winter cinema season. A chance to relax in luxury and sink into some seriously Christmassy and majestic storytelling.

    The Spitfire Sisters’ Christmas Special

The gorgeous and stunningly talented Spitfire Sisters will be performing at the Theatre Royal this Thursday from 7.30pm. Jingle your bells with vintage style and glamour and really get in that Christmas spirit (with mulled wine in hand) and let these fabulous ladies serenade you into the holiday season.

    New Energy Yoga

If you’re in need of some yin to your yang ahead of Christmas then book in (on Winter Solstice no less) for a little calm and reflection at New Energy Yoga this Friday. Hannah Fletcher will be taking a gorgeous yoga practice to help you align your mind and body at this hectic time of year.

    Christmas Carols

And, if like me, this time of year doesn’t feel festive until you’ve heard your first carols at the Cathedral then why not head to A Christmas Celebration – family carol service this Friday from 6.30pm. Plus, there’s the beautifully serene Benjamin Britten’s Ceremony of Carols on Sunday 23rd at 3.30pm.

Whatever you do ahead of Christmas, I hope you have a happy and healthy holiday!

    Merry Christmas, ladies!
